The Irreducible Human
Life, Value, and Meaning in the Age of AI
Co-authored with Dr. Kristian Guttesen
Accepted by Brill Publishers
What remains essentially human when AI can replicate our outputs? This book argues that human value is not reducible to productivity, and builds a philosophical framework for AI governance grounded in what makes life worth living.
The book introduces three concepts redefining the conversation: Responsibility Fog — how accountability vanishes when decisions get distributed across committees and algorithms; Cognitive Debt — how judgment atrophies when we outsource thinking; and the VALOR governance framework — a systematic approach to AI that puts life-value, not productivity, at the center.
