Magnús Smári Smárason

I work where technology meets what it means to be human. I design and build software powered by large language models and autonomous agents, and I study what the technology does to us. At the University of Akureyri I led the AI strategy and built the sovereign infrastructure that carries it out.

The road here ran through masonry, sixteen years in the fire service, and law. One principle holds under all of it: technology serves those who understand it, not those who outsource their judgment.
